The Bioexpertise Project (founded
2000) helps improve patient care by effectively disseminating expert
scientific commentary relating to important clinical trials and
monitoring resulting changes in physician behavior. Educating physician
communities involves significant challenges: Opinion leaders and "early
adopters" are hard to engage. They are geographically and
professionally fragmented and tend to suffer from information
'overload'. Moreover, while the scientific messages themselves are
increasingly complex, clarifying these complexities in a highly
regulated environment is fraught with complications: information is
tightly controlled and must comply with strict scientific and
regulatory standards.
The
Bioexpertise program successfully implements solutions to the above
challenges every day. Its flagship program, BioCritique™, is
unique among CME mechanisms for its rigorous documentation of relevant
Level Four behavioral outcomes (Critical Pathways in Cardiology, March
2007, Volume 6, Pages 30-40).
